The IHCA and its Black Box Theater in Indian Head is dedicated to the cultural advancement of the region by providing a broad spectrum of performing arts programs. Our Center encourages community interaction, supports economic development, enhances educational programs and provides a variety of opportunities for our residents and businesses.
The 80 seat Black Box Theater, with its intimate setting and 450 sq.ft. stage, provides a unique professional venue for a variety of performing arts programs such as musical and dramatic performances, recitals, exhibits, literary readings, seminars and theater workshops, to name a few.
The new and refined Arts Center on the second level opened in August, 2015. Renovations were made possible from a grant provided by the State of Maryland. Our vision for the two-level revitalization was to provide a multi-purpose space for all residents. The renovation investment increases the space by 50% and provides numerous opportunities for use by the Center and Town. In essence a place to perform, gather and together, create a cultural community facility that enhances the image and viability of our town.
